Teak Furniture, Sliding Glass Walls, and Coastal Modern Terrace Design

This space blurs the line between living room and terrace, using floor-to-ceiling sliding glass walls to open the interior fully onto the outdoor seating area. Inside, a neutral sectional and a pair of woven armchairs sit on a natural fiber rug, layered with soft textiles that keep the room feeling grounded despite its scale. Stone flooring runs from the interior threshold out onto the terrace, reinforcing the sense that these are one continuous space rather than two separate rooms.

Outside, teak furniture takes over…a low teak coffee table with a dark steel base, a teak sofa layered with outdoor pillows, and a matching teak side table, all suited to the coastal modern aesthetic. Potted greenery lines the terrace edge, softening the transition to the open view beyond. A row of chaise lounges along the far side of the terrace extends the living space even further, making the most of the setting. Together, the interior and exterior share a material palette of stone, wood, and neutral textiles, creating an indoor-outdoor living room that reads as one cohesive design rather than a house with a patio attached.
